Everyone's been raving about the six-star Bellarocca Resort and Spa in Marinduque. From the photos I've seen, saying it's beautiful is an understatement.
It just dawned on me recently that the resort was built on an island owned by the family of an old friend of mine.
It wasn't common knowledge but it wasn't a secret either that the Hiranos owned Fantasy Elephant Island. Back in our elementary days, we used to tease my friend Joji that they were so rich they actually had an island.
Anyway, I don't know if they still own it. My guess is they probably sold it for a a little fortune, a few hundred million pesos perhaps.
